For this second paper I want you to choose a current social, cultural or political issue that you believe has something to do with masculinity and attempt to explain it using at least two theoretical perspectives we have covered in this class. You can do this by imagining that you are having a discussion with two of the authors we have read in class about your topic (author readings are attached below) What would they have to say about it? How would they explain it in terms of their theoretical arguments, and what might they suggest as a solution to the problem? What would you say to them in response to their views on the subject? Can you identify any sociological issues pertaining to your chosen topic that your author\u2019s theoretical position fails to account for? Feel free to include yourself and your views into this discussion. The evaluation and grade that you receive for this paper will be based on the extent to which you demonstrate your ability to apply the theoretical perspectives to the issue of your choice, as well as your ability to communicate your ideas in writing. <\/p>\n
