Purpose:<\/p>\n
The literature review develops broad ideas of what is already known in a field, and what questions are still unanswered. This process will assist you in furthering narrowing the problem for investigation and will highlight any theories that may exist to support developing hypotheses. You must show that you have looked through the literature and have found the latest updates in your field of study in order for a proposal to be convincing to an audience. This process also helps you to be sure that your investigation is not just \u201creinventing the wheel.\u201d A discussion of the present understanding and\/or state of knowledge concerning the problem or issue sets the context for your investigation.<\/p>\n
Using a minimum of 10 academic sources, write a Literature Review for your research question or hypothesis. You will do this by:<\/p>\n
Making sure you have a solid research question or hypothesis<\/p>\n
Narrowing down your topic area and coming up with search terms or keywords<\/p>\n
Selecting at least 10 sources that shed relevant light on your research question\/hypothesis. The resource should provide background information, summarize what has already been done on the topic, at least partially answer your question, and\/or direct your thinking on the subject.<\/p>\n
Using the Literature Review section in journal articles and your textbook as a guide.<\/p>\n
Guidelines:<\/p>\n
It should be between 6-8 pages (excluding the title page and references page)<\/p>\n
It should not be a recitation of your sources.<\/p>\n
It is a synthesis of available research on your topic and an analysis of how your research will build on what has already been done.<\/p>\n

Quality of addressing of research objective\/claim<\/p>\n
Number\/quality\/relevance of sources (minimum of 10 academic sources).<\/p>\n
Quality of synthesis and discussion\/support for claims.<\/p>\n
Writing style\/grammar\/spelling\/professionalism of paper.<\/p>\n
APA style use in-text and on references.<\/p>\n
