All identified structural and functional characteristics must be clearly identified and must be placed in the proper location within the Venn diagram.\u00a0 For example: you might choose the characteristic of \u201cstriated appearance\u201d.\u00a0 Striated appearance would be properly placed into the overlap area between skeletal and cardiac muscle.\u00a0 \u201cLacking striations\u201d would properly be placed into the smooth muscle only area.
