In other words, you need to be able to see how an individual\u2019s personal biography is influenced by the social world, and how these biographies influence the way(s) that people interact with the social world. While there are shared social experiences within a culture, such as the type of political system you live in, you also have unique experiences that contribute to your social experiences. It will be helpful to read <a class=\"inline_disabled external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/social-trends\/2019\/02\/14\/millennial-life-how-young-adulthood-today-compares-with-prior-generations-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Millennial life: How young adulthood today compares with prior generations<span class=\"screenreader-only\">\u00a0(Links to an external site.)<\/span><\/a> from the Pew Research Center to reflect on changes we see from one generation to the next as you prepare your initial response.<\/p>\n<h3>Engage<\/h3>\n<p>Before beginning this activity, be sure to <a title=\"M1.2 Module Notes: An Introduction to Sociology\" href=\"https:\/\/excelsior.instructure.com\/courses\/26878\/pages\/m1-dot-2-module-notes-an-introduction-to-sociology\" data-api-endpoint=\"https:\/\/excelsior.instructure.com\/api\/v1\/courses\/26878\/pages\/m1-dot-2-module-notes-an-introduction-to-sociology\" data-api-returntype=\"Page\">read the Module Notes<\/a> and the assigned readings and viewings. Use as much detail from the readings and other learning materials in the module as possible to answer the following prompts.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Examine one element of your personal biography and discuss how it has been shaped by your social experiences and\/or how it has shaped your social interactions.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss how your example reflects the history of the society that you live in (for example, changes in laws or social expectations) that might not have been true in another time period.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Your initial post should be at least 250 words and must substantively integrate the assigned readings with <a class=\"inline_disabled external\" href=\"https:\/\/owl.excelsior.edu\/citation-and-documentation\/apa-style\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proper APA style formatting<span class=\"screenreader-only\">\u00a0(Links to an external site.)<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0For assistance with APA style formatting, <a class=\"inline_disabled external\" href=\"https:\/\/home.excelsior.edu\/students\/library\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visit the Library<span class=\"screenreader-only\">\u00a0(Links to an external site.)<\/span><\/a> or the <a class=\"inline_disabled external\" href=\"https:\/\/owl.excelsior.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Excelsior OWL<span class=\"screenreader-only\">\u00a0(Links to an external site.)<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<strong> Your initial post is due by Thursday at 11:59 PM ET.
