The three concepts of Respect, Openness, and continuity have a way in which they integrate with the HRM as the main building block and theme of the practice. The ROC is not a collection or elimination of unilateral HRM concepts of practice; instead, it is a domain that brings a different overview of management into the light. Its aim is in balancing the short and long-term goals that employees place upon themselves of the company (Mariappanadar, 2019).. The societal, employee, and employer interests are all blend together through the use of the model. De Lange and Koppens have defined sustainable HRM to be based on the triple P model. The triple p represents the ‘planet’ ‘people’ and ‘profit’ and has gained significant use and application in sustainable HRM practice.

One of the illustrations from the text that relates to me is one describing the difference between mainstream and sustainable HRM practices. The illustration points out the three significant differences that distinguish this practice and sets sustainable HRM at a better position in comparison. The Respect part of the ROC allows the HRM practice to be based on the internal stakeholder’s ability to appreciate the employees (Mariappanadar, 2019).. This form of appreciation allows for the continuity of the practice and promotes employee well-being and optimal performance in an organization. The model also illustrates the external perspective and dealings of HRM. This ‘openness’ connects the HRM practices with the outside environment, which is not common in conventional and mainstream HRM practices.

Continuity is based on society and the economy. Every business must allow for long-term integration sustainability of the two. Sustainable HRM is often career-oriented and innovative since enhancing economic policies’ integration with societal or social interests is difficult to achieve. It is worth noting that the conventional HRM practice has focused on strategizing, financial performance, and competitive advantage sustainability (Mariappanadar, 2019). This model of HRM practice was based on ‘what employers want.’ However, the text recognizes that ‘what employers want is not ‘what the employees want. Sustainable HRM, on the other hand, focuses on what the employees and combines practice to align with what the ‘external stakeholder’s want.’ as such, the ROC model can promote sustainability by addressing pronounced and subtle issues of management while allowing the unilateral HRM practices to be promoted in a new and more effective way.

References

Mariappanadar, S.
