Organizational changes are mainly meant to facilitate changes and address all possible challenges that could influence how some operations are conducted (Shelygov, Filonova & Gorlova, 2019). For this project, I have selected The Capital Grille, a restaurant based in Boston and desperately needs assistance with all the processes and operations. In this restaurant, the recent past has not been financially good, and for this reason, the restaurant needs to engage in better ways to lead to positive changes. I was hired in the restaurant 13 months ago as a server, but I would help when the assistant cook was not around. Unfortunately, the staff and management have no responsibility or accountability for their action in this organization. I was under the assumption that I would showcase my skills as a cook, but due to management issues, I could not succeed in this.<\/p>\n
I noticed that the restaurant has no effective organization, and this has affected it. At the front desk, there is a computer that one may assume to assist in dealing with all the company’s needs. There is minimal use of technology, and the servers rely on traditional ways of taking and updating orders. In this organization, there lacks a process to track the completed orders and the number of items that have been sold in a day. In addition, the owner of the restaurant keeps complaining of continued financial losses to the company. <\/p>\n
The working environment in this restaurant would need an organizational development intervention. Since there is no professionalism in the working environment of this company, the management needs to hire a manager who will instil discipline among the employees. Technology is an important feature in the restaurant industry that may lead to changes (Park, Park & Heo, 2018). To ensure that the environment is made conducive by designing a technology to record all sales and oversee how the employees conduct while in the organization. Also, creating a disciplinary committee that will hold everyone accountable for all their problems will assist in managing the current challenge and ensure that all goals are attained. <\/p>\n
