Upon successful completion of this unit on written and practical examination, the student will:<\/p>\n
Analyze various case examples by:<\/p>\n
Identifying physical performance impairments during an occupation.<\/p>\n
Selecting appropriate tests to assess the indentified physical performance deficits.<\/p>\n
Determining and defending which model of practice\/frame of reference would best guide the treatment of the identified impairments.<\/p>\n
Implementing the selected frame of reference\/model of practice in correcting, or compensating, for the identified impairments.<\/p>\n

The student will demonstrate proficiency in applying Activity Analysis to a wheelchair activity that requires propulsion and mobility throughout a mall or shopping center through understanding the difference between quantitative and qualitative research studies. <\/p>\n

Shopping<\/p>\n
Car transfers<\/p>\n
Functional Mobility to include:<\/p>\n
Accessing a water fountain <\/p>\n
Accessing the elevator<\/p>\n
Accessing the restrooms.<\/p>\n
Other functional mobility related activities<\/p>\n
The students will be assigned the above described functional activity which they will perform resembling a patient with a pre-determined diagnosis and disability. <\/p>\n
Students will analyze the functional activity outcome and submit a written assignment (minimum 3-4 pages) utilizing the following structure:<\/p>\n
Description of the activity(including listing the most significant steps)<\/p>\n
Analysis of client factors and occupational performance skills, <\/p>\n
Demands and requirements of the activity, <\/p>\n
Environmental and physical context assessment, <\/p>\n
List of recommendations that are evidence based; scientific based.<\/p>\n
Resources\/supplies used to demonstrate skill: <\/p>\n
Occupational Therapy Practice Framework (OTPF) to be used as a guide to analyze the foundational elements of task\/occupation Performance<\/p>\n
Application of concepts previously learned about activity analysis<\/p>\n
