Art History Timeline Museum<\/p>\n
Use PowerPoint or Microsoft Word to build an Art History Timeline Museum with small images, art information and one curatorial statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In your time periods, you must include ONE or more non-Western culture(s) (not sure what non-Western is? Read what “Western<\/p>\n

For each TIME PERIOD (total of 3) list “Title of Exhibit,” Culture ( if applicable) and time period<\/p>\n
For each time period, select FOUR examples of artwork that you will “display” from each period. Remember to have some sort of connection between these works.<\/p>\n
For each ARTWORK (total of 12) in your Museum, include an IMAGE of the work (scaled between 2 and 4 inches, under 1MB)\u00a0 and\u00a0 INFORMATION including the Title, Artist (or culture), Material, Size and Date underneath.<\/p>\n
The ART should come from your research. I suggest looking at images by searching the COLLECTIONS available on these museum websites below. Often time you can search by period, culture or other specific categories<\/p>\n

Include one Overall CURATOR STATEMENT at the beginning that address all time periods<\/p>\n
\u00a0Approximately 350-500 words<\/p>\n
This statement needs to explain how you\u2019ve structured your Timeline Museum<\/p>\n
What time periods did you choose and why?<\/p>\n
How are the timelines connected?<\/p>\n
How did you select the artworks you chose for each time period? How are they connected?<\/p>\n
Did you look for famous artists? Or did you focus on specific cultures or locations? Or are you interested in the types of art, for example, all painting, or all sculptures, etc.? Do you have a thematic connection between time periods or works of art?<\/p>\n
Did you arrange your museum to call attention to a social issue or bias or oversight?<\/p>\n
Did you think about how the arrangement of objects can tell a particular narrative or create meaning for the viewer?<\/p>\n
For each choice you made, your statement should explain why you made that choice. How and why did you select the artwork you selected? Reflect on your own biases. What in your background made you highlight certain pieces, culture or time periods over others?<\/p>\n
