{"id":9057,"date":"2020-09-30T10:43:55","date_gmt":"2020-09-30T10:43:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/papersspot.com\/blog\/?p=9057"},"modified":"2020-09-30T10:43:59","modified_gmt":"2020-09-30T10:43:59","slug":"module-3-deliverable-cultural-levers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/papersspot.com\/blog\/2020\/09\/30\/module-3-deliverable-cultural-levers\/","title":{"rendered":"Module 3 Deliverable: Cultural Levers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Read and understand: Young, David (2000).&nbsp;<em>The six levers for managing&nbsp;organizational culture.<\/em><\/li><li>Conduct this assessment on YOUR OWN ORGANIZATION, or a former employer.<\/li><li><strong>Module 3 Deliverable<\/strong>&nbsp;is a professional presentation that identifies the core cultural components of the organization, as described by Schein (1996) <em>found within the Young article<\/em>, and how these components translate in practice&nbsp;into Young&#8217;s (2000)&nbsp;six processes or levers of the&nbsp;organization: Management Control,&nbsp;Motivation, Authority &amp; Influence, Customer Management, Conflict Management, and Strategy Formation.<\/li><li>A comprehensive&nbsp;Cultural Levers wheel identifying all assessment detail, as well as supportive\/non supportive levers, will be the primary visual for the presentation, supported by a comprehensive virtual presentation in Zoom.<\/li><li>Lesson 7 will offer guidance on application of Young&#8217;s model, where as Lessons 8-9 will provide insight and direction on the planning\/design\/delivery of captivating presentations.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Presentation Outline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introduction:<\/strong> Provide a brief introduction of the organization&nbsp;as well as David Young&#8217;s Cultural Levers model&nbsp;(1 slide, include in-text\/full citation).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Body of Presentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Discuss the&nbsp;company&#8217;s CORE culture as presented by Schein (noted in Young&#8217;s article) shown as the &#8216;core&#8217; or center of the cultural levers wheel. This discussion includes specific narrative on the <strong>1)artifacts, 2)shared values, and 3)basic assumptions<\/strong>. Be specific in your examples for each category, as it applies to the organization. The visual can include basic words that describe the culture, but this should be further discussed in your presentation.<\/li><li>Explain &#8211; Is the&nbsp;organization attempting to <em>maintain or change<\/em> the cultural environment? (Be specific)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Sections 1 &amp; 2 (above) submitted in writing,&nbsp;will be Scaffolding Activity #1.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li>Discuss each of the 6 levers in terms of how the organization&nbsp;currently operates (practices\/policies) within that lever. For example, for the Motivation lever, discuss how your company motivates its employees. What are the motivation programs in place at your organization? How are employees rewarded? Simply describe how the company operates within each of the six processes\/levers. This discussion is the heart of your application.<\/li><li>At the conclusion of each&nbsp;Lever description, determine if the actions taken by the company, as it applies to each lever, are&nbsp;SUPPORTIVE&nbsp;(S) or NOT SUPPORT (NS) of&nbsp;the intended core culture, as you defined in the beginning of the exercise. Explain your answer.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Sections 3 &amp; 4 (above) submitted PPT,&nbsp;will be Scaffolding Activity #2.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lastly, discuss the&nbsp;changes (practices\/policies) necessary to turn the NON-SUPPORTING levers to SUPPORTIVE. Define specific actions\/recommendations that the company needs to implement (such as instituting a team-based reward and recognition program) in order to align culture with practices<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Scaffolding Activity #3 is a draft slide deck (or&nbsp;Prezi slide) of any of the above components.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deliverable Format&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Professional presentation in <em>Zoom platform <\/em>using PPT or Prezi \u00a0<\/li><li>Please use audio AND video, so that we can see you on the screen<\/li><li>Maximum time: 20 minutes<\/li><li>Use slide content as <strong>talking points<\/strong>, Keep.it.simple.<\/li><li>Record presentation in Zoom and include the Zoom link in Canvas submission<\/li><li>Include a title slide\u00a0<\/li><li>Use titles\/subtitles to show flow and transition<\/li><li>Include a final\u00a0reference page, Young(2000) full citation APA<\/li><li>Use spell\/grammar check<\/li><li>Grading of: 1) Application of model-L7, and presentation skills-L8-9<\/li><li>Refer to Assignment Rubric below<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-pale-cyan-blue-color\">WE&#8217;VE HAD A GOOD SUCCESS RATE ON THIS ASSIGNMENT.
