For this assignment, you will join forces with your Numeric<\/strong> group members to conduct an interview of an ethical leader. The person should have an outstanding ethical reputation and serve in a top-level position in an organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Field Project is a group assignment researching and analyzing the ethical leadership style of a business professional. The Team will create an interview protocol. Following the interview protocol, the team will conduct a face-to-face, phone, or teleconference interview of the ethical leader. Do not record the interview. The interview should not last more than one hour. One or more members of the assigned group may conduct the interview, take notes, and share the results with the other members of the group. The Teams are required to write a report (5-page essay utilizing the basic rules of APA<\/strong> writing style typed in 1.5 spaced 12-point font with appropriate citations).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The steps of your project are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Read the article Frisch, C. & Huppenbauer, M. (2014). New insights into ethical leadership: A qualitative investigation of the experiences of executive ethical leaders (Links to an external site.)<\/a>. Journal of Business Ethics,<\/em> 123, 23-43.  DOI 10.1007\/s10551-013-1797-9. <\/li>
  2. By the end of Lesson 3, submit your proposed ethical leader name, title, and company\u2019s name for the interview. One group member will submit on behalf of the entire group. The instructor needs to approve your candidate selection.<\/li>
  3. By the end of Lesson 7, the group will submit a proposed interview protocol for approval by the instructor. Follow the main categories and your optional subcategories from the Frisch and Huppenbauer article<\/strong>. The instructor needs to approve the actual interview protocol prior to you conducting the interview. You will receive instructor feedback and approval\/denial by the end of Lesson 8.<\/li>
  4. In the ensuing weeks, engage your group members in a discussion of your findings and listen to their views.<\/li>
  5. Each member of the group is required to participate and contribute to the writing of the report (submitted by the end of Lesson 14).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Develop an Interview Protocol<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The group is required to develop an interview protocol based on the Frisch and Huppenbauer article main categories and subheadings that addresses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • general information about the interviewee and the company<\/li>
    • the stakeholders who were identified as important, using the stakeholder environment approach (reference  Figure 14.3 in course content)<\/li>
    • the ethical business professional\u2019s behavior towards these stakeholders<\/li>
    • the ethical guidance of employees<\/li>
    • any conflicts and difficult decisions<\/li>
    • the antecedents of ethical behavior, and<\/li>
    • the consequences of the ethical leadership style.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Write-up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Write an interview and a reflection\/conclusion. Use the format from the Frisch and Huppenbauer article of main categories and subheadings. Cite all resources in accordance with academic integrity standards. Discuss particular ethical situations that challenged the person, caused them to fail to achieve their goals, and\/or spurred their personal development. Discover what motivates the individual to do their best. Be sure to identify all relevant ethical theories\/concepts to propose the further development of the business professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Reflection\/Conclusion: Critique the interviewee\u2019s reaction to the most challenging dilemma. Explain what strategies you would have recommended instead and why your approach is superior<\/em> to the ethical leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Grading<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The report will be evaluated on application of course concepts\/theories<\/strong> as frameworks for understanding the ethical behavior of the business professional, your critical thinking, and the quality of writing utilizing the basic rules of APA<\/strong> writing style. See the grading rubric for the specific criteria upon which you will be assessed. 25 points of the grade will be dedicated to the written report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
