Since this is a published piece, you will likey focus on mostly positive usage. Follow current MLA formatting with Times New Roman or Arial 12-point font and type, double-spaced, at least 8 pages of paragraphs (no maximum limit), which should be a minimum of 2200 words. The Works Cited page does not count toward the length requirement. You will incorporate at least 5 scholarly sources, most of which will be utilized in Section 2 of the paper. The chosen published piece and the textbook can count toward the 5 total sources.<\/p>\n<p> The Research Paper Assignment should be organized as follows:<\/p>\n<p> Introduction paragraph with brief summary of the chosen piece followed by a thesis that directs readers to both sections of the paper<\/p>\n<p> Section 1: Several paragraphs describing the grammar (mostly positive usage) of the chosen piece with specific examples from the published selection<\/p>\n<p> Section 2: Several paragraphs explaining common grammar issues in today\u2019s everyday spoken &amp; written English (not referring to the chosen piece)<\/p>\n<p> Conclusion paragraph<\/p>\n<p> Works Cited<\/p>\n<p> Both sections should contain copiously illustrated grammar examples.<\/p>\n<p> Tips &amp; Suggestions: <\/p>\n<p> -Fully address both sections<\/p>\n<p> -Organize the paper as indicated above: Intro, Section 1, Section 2, and Conclusion<\/p>\n<p> -Provide many illustrative grammar examples (most should be positive usage since this is a published piece); there ought to be\u00a0copious\u00a0grammar examples, and each should be explained in detail, using grammar terms as presented in your textbook<\/p>\n<p> -Do not let the examples \u201cspeak for themselves\u201d; expand upon your examples <\/p>\n<p> -Remember to focus on grammar descriptions (not literary elements or poetic devices)<\/p>\n<p> -Cite detailed examples with correct MLA intext parentheses. Do not copy\/paste the full or large portions of the chosen text into your paper; refer to it using examples throughout Section 1<\/p>\n<p> -Only Section 1 should address the grammar of chosen piece.
