Social psychology is involved in pretty much everything we do \u2013 it is in our daily behaviors and interactions, it is in our attitudes and decisions, and it is in the information and media we consume. For this assignment, you will identify social psychology out in the \u201creal world\u201d \u2013 by finding a newspaper or magazine article (in print or online) describing an event that relates to something we have learned about in Social Psychology.<\/p>\n
To complete the assignment, please:<\/p>\n
1. Attach a copy of your article to your assignment submission (does not count toward page limit). <\/p>\n
2. Write a brief blog post that clearly explains what social psychological theory, concept, or principle is represented in this story AND why this story is a good example of your theory\/concept\/principle. You will need to make explicitly clear the connection between your chosen psychological concept and the article you picked. <\/p>\n
Recap: To receive full credit for this assignment, you must clearly, accurately, and comprehensively identify, describe, and explain the social psychological concept you have chosen and how it relates to your article. <\/p>\n
A complete response will likely be approximately 1 double-spaced page in length. A good rule of thumb to remember is that if you could have written your response to this assignment prior to taking this class, you have not adequately described the theory\/concept. I would highly recommend describing a single concept\/theory in depth rather than multiple concepts\/theories superficially.<\/p>\n
The assignment will be graded out of 20 points and contributes 12% to your final grade.<\/p>\n
