The headline articulates the joke that the article then develops. In fact, there are generally different writers for the headline and for the article that goes along with it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Write your own headline and then draft an\u00a0Onion\u00a0article on a topic of your choice. This should be a full-length article such as the one you analyzed (these typically range from around 6-12 short paragraphs) rather than a one paragraph \u201cnews in brief.\u201d Follow the journalistic style typical for articles of this type. Think back to Unit 1 (the op-ed) for guidelines about persuasive journalistic writing. For example, you can use an introductory hook for readers, simple language, quotes, a pointed conclusion, etc. This is an opportunity to once again use the typical journalistic style but to alter it for parodic effect.<\/p>\n<p> Note: For your final parody project, due next week, you can develop this\u00a0Onion\u00a0article, or the print ad, editorial cartoon, or parody video from last week.
