The “Health care inequality in Australia: how fair is Medicare?” article, states that the system favors those of higher income. People living in rural areas on average have a shorter life span due to higher levels of disease and poorer access to health services. One recommendation would be having transportation for people living in remote areas so they can have better access to services. This transportation could be a train or bus that is provided under Medicare or at a very low rate. Many people can not make those long drives to the city or simply can not afford it. People living in those areas could potentially have a longer life span did they were able to visit the doctor for diseases and injuries. Another recommendation would be providing more health screens to people in remote areas so they will not have to make many visits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
