This assignment parallels the ABC television series, Shark Tank, and asks you to create a product or service, and draft a persuasive presentation to pitch your idea.<\/p>\n<p> For example, you might cover the camera\/photography industry, and create a competitor to GoPro cameras. Or, you could cover the fitness industry and your investment idea could be a new app. You could also create a new nonprofit organization that will address a particular social issue.<\/p>\n<p> You will need evidence and a compelling story that supports your point of view. The investors will not be persuaded by just your opinion. <\/p>\n<p> You will deliver this pitch to the class, we will act as investors. You will use visuals to support your argument.<\/p>\n<p> STEPS TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGNMENT<\/p>\n<p> Research current new industries. Pick one you think seems promising. Within that industry, create or identify a start-up company or product &#8211; anything that interests you!<\/p>\n<p> Prepare your 3 to 4 minute presentation. Use our class notes and the outline structure on the next page.<\/p>\n<p> Practice and time your pitch many times. A grades will only be earned by the most prepared and well organized pitches.<\/p>\n<p> Industry Pitch Presentation Outline<\/p>\n<p> Copy the pattern below into a blank Word document and fill in the information pertaining to your pitch in complete sentences. Bring a hard copy of your outline to the workshop and submit a final copy on the day of your speech. We will discuss how to do all of the following in class.<\/p>\n<p> INTRODUCTION (4 phases)<\/p>\n<p> 1. Attention-getting Phase (capture audience\u2019s interest)<\/p>\n<p> 2.
