The composition of air pollution varies, but the greatest impact is attributed to particulate matter. They are associated with increased mortality and morbidity rate, so all measures need to be taken to control them. The duo associate PM with more than 3.1 million deaths annually, making it the largest environmental health risk factor (Hamanaka & Mutlu, 2018). The composition of the particulate matter includes mixtures of invisible liquid droplets and solid droplets that get their way to the air. Based on this information, employees at Sun Coast would be at a high risk of these contaminants emanating from dirt, dust, smoke and soot particles coming from the industry.

Safety Training Effectiveness Article

Thousands of people working outdoors in factories and industries stand at a high risk of exposure to air pollutants. This risk factor is correlation to the health risks humans are exposed to. However, much the pollutants cannot be dealt away with; it is possible to reduce the risks of exposure by engaging the people at risk with safety training measures (Laumbach et al., 201). The training should involve letting the employees aware of the key factors leading to the pollution, the harmful effects associated with the pollutants and the safety measures they can undertake to reduce the risks of exposure. If possible, the training needs to be made part of the industrial schedule in a bid to improve employee wellness by reducing risks associated with both long term and short term diseases associated with pollutants.

Sound-Level Exposure Article

According to the centre for Disease Control (CDC), over 22 million of the labour force are exposed to noise that is a threat to their health on an annual basis (Li, et al., 2019). Exposure to these high-level sounds is associated with a high risk of killing the nerve endings in the inner ear. If the exposure prolongs for a longer duration, one may be at risk of permanent hearing loss that cannot never be corrected through surgical processes. This calls for the need for employee training and enhancement of wearing sound protective equipment such as earmuffs to reduce the adversity.

New Employee Training Article

New employee training is imperative to maintain both employee and workplace safety. In most companies, the training is held together with the orientation process. Industries should always take their time during this process to test the prospected employees’ knowledge and capability to manage work within the given environment (Team Safesite, 2022). Upon training, they need to be assigned a supervisor who should guide them through the procedures, safety concerns and information on the requirement of personal protective equipment and how they should be utilized (Brown, 2015). Through it, the new employees can better understand safety practices and their expectations while at the workplace.

Lead Exposure Article

Lead has been one of the major pollutants whose exposure leads to adverse effects. Workers in big industries that involve the combustion of fuels, incineration, and lead-acid batteries have been at a higher risk of exposure. Once it gets to the body, it is absorbed into the bloodstream and gets accumulated in the bones (Musick, 2017). This exposure adversely affects the cardiovascular system, nervous system, kidney, reproductive, and immune systems. These are serious health conditions that lead to death, and therefore, remedies, including monitoring lead levels, need to be done to curb exposure.

Return on Investment Article

The exists a negative correlation between pollution and industrial investment. It results in reduced productivity and high health expenditures. This causes economic and investment sabotage, which requires some strategies to revive the returns (Wu, 2018). This would be possible by undertaking health and safety training and investing in controlling the level of contaminant emissions to the environment.

References

Brown, D.
