Assignment 3 : Controlling Cost for Nursing Practice (20 points)<\/p>\n
For this assignment, students will discuss fiscal planning and cost containment financial factors that pertain to today\u2019s professional nursing roles in leadership. <\/p>\n
Assignment Criteria:<\/p>\n
Develop a scholarly paper that addresses the following criteria:<\/p>\n
Discuss the budgetary process<\/p>\n
Types of budgets<\/p>\n
Budgeting measures <\/p>\n
Discuss health-care reimbursement <\/p>\n
Medicare and Medicaid<\/p>\n
Prospective payment systems <\/p>\n
Managed care <\/p>\n
Include cost containment and the role of the nurse<\/p>\n
Balancing cost and quality of care<\/p>\n
Discuss Health-Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act<\/p>\n
Bundled payments<\/p>\n
Hospital Value-Based Purchasing<\/p>\n
Health Insurance Marketplaces<\/p>\n
The scholarly paper should <\/p>\n
4 to 6 pages, excluding the title and reference page.<\/p>\n
Include an introductory paragraph, purpose statement, and a conclusion.<\/p>\n
Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the paper.<\/p>\n
Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use \u2018we\u2019 or \u2018I\u2019) and in a scholarly manner. To clarify: I, we, you, me, our is not used. In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used. <\/p>\n
Include a minimum of three (2) peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) and be less than five (5) years old.<\/p>\n
APA format is required (attention to spelling\/grammar, a title page, a reference page, and in-text citations). <\/p>\n
