Before completing this discussion,

  1. Read chapter 5 in The College Experience Compact (2nd) on Learning Preferences.
  2. Complete the Learning Inventory Assignment and upload your results to the dropbox.
  3. Review the Learning Styles Discussion Rubric posted in Canvas.

For Discussion Assignment

  • Initial post must address the questions/statements below. See rubric for guidelines.
  • AFTER posting initial post respond to a minimum of two of your peers. Responses MUST add to the discussion and cannot consist of just “good post” or “I agree.”
  • Assignment must follow APA format for references. Please adhere to the Honor Code in an effort to maintain the integrity of your work and avoid plagiarism.
  • You must incorporate at least 1 additional scholarly resource AND your textbook to support your points. Cite your sources in the paper using APA 6th edition formatting.
  1. Discuss various learning styles and provide an example of each.
  2. Identify your personal learning style. Give at least two reasons why you think this is your learning style.
  3. Identify at least three strategies you can utilize in order to be successful in an accelerated nursing program. What study skills or tips do plan to use? What about test taking skills? How will you balance home/work/school if you have to work while in school or have a family to care for? What strategies will you use if life gets “bumpy” to make sure you stay successful?
