This self assessment is intended to assist you in continual improvement in the quality of your participation in course discussions. This is the first opportunity.
You will evaluate yourself using the same rubric used to evaluate your overall participation at the end of the course. Review the Individual Participation expectations for more information. Additionally, you will provide justification (support) for why you chose the levels of achievement you did, and determine how you can improve the quality of your work. Even though this assignment is not graded, it is required as it is an important step to improving the quality of your work.
First, download the Discussion/Participation Self-Assessment. Then complete the following steps for each of the evaluation criteria:
- Highlight the achievement level cell that you believe corresponds to the quality of your work.
- Enter a justification statement that supports your selection of the achievement level.
- Enter an improvement statement describing what you can to to raise the level of your work.
When completed, your self-assessment should look like Example 1 for each of the evaluation criteria –

The instructor will provide feedback by completing the Canvas rubric, selecting the achievement level they deem appropriate and adding any relevant comments.
