In this assignment, you will consider organizational culture as it influences ethical behavior, drawing on your previous experience and what you have learned from the course. More specifically, you will analyze the culture of an organization listed in the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work for 2020. Your analysis will be 2-3 pages in length, 1 ½ -spaced, 12-point font Microsoft Word document or PDF with appropriate citations.
- Choose a company to analyze from the Great Place to Work list (Links to an external site.).
- Follow the outline provided below. Apply ethical culture concepts from Chapter 5, pages 199-205 and Lesson 7, along with use of explicit examples from your experience. Consider both the formal and informal aspects of the culture.
- Consider the effect of missing cultural components in the organization (e.g., no ethics training). You might decide that one of the determinants of ethical behavior involves a component that is absent rather than present. Also, try to dig beneath the surface. Often, culture (especially the informal side) is evident only when it is contrasted with other cultures that are different. So, feel free to discuss your audit findings in your paper. Just make sure that your final recommendations are your own.
- Furthermore, think about your recommendations:
- What would you change and why?
- What are the key take-aways?
