Requirements:

In this assignment you will essentially go through the stages of project management for developing the solutions of the below case study. You will be using the MS Project 2016 for the assignment. Your grade will be based on your analysis and quality of final assignment.

Introduction:

The issue of traffic safety has been receiving a great attention in the State of Qatar, because it places an obligation on individuals, families and groups. Annually, there are 220 people being killed and 550 injured in Qatar as a result of traffic accidents, despite the tangible improvements in roads during the past five years.

The rapid growth of the State of Qatar, along with the progress made in the expansion of the road infrastructure, creates an opportunity to build a network of roads according to the highest specifications of traffic safety.

It has been developed a strategic national traffic safety to strengthen the commitment to reducing human suffering caused by traffic accidents, and determine the road map towards an ambitious vision for long-term development of safe «Road transportation system) to reduce the number of road accidents. This strategy was designed with the participation of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) to improve traffic safety in Qatar over the upcoming years.

The 22-February Street is considered one of the most vital roads in the State of Qatar, as it connects all parts of the country from north to south, and from east to west. It is a similar to highway street in the centre of the state of Qatar. The 22-February street, with its side entrances and exits, has been the cause of many traffic accidents in the recent years, due to several reasons, including the lack of sufficient emergency lanes in the most bridges and main streets. Moreover, many main and secondary streets contribute to stopping traffic, especially at peak times, due to the narrowness of the lanes and the lack of emergency lanes.

The assignment focuses on developing the 22-February street based on a practical idea for reducing the traffic/accidents within one year. This assignment aims to improve the distribution of entrances and exits on the main roads. In addition to designing new lanes so that the street is improved in a way that facilitates the movement of vehicles and avoids traffic congestion and congestion at peak times.

As the re-design of these roads in a way that is proportional to the number of vehicles achieves the goal of re-establishing them, so that the desired results of this project are that the new design will be well received by the users and residents of the 22-February Street, and in a way that does not cause damage to the infrastructure in any way.
