Directions: Choose only 1 of the following challenges, and complete it to the best of your ability. Some of the options ask us to analyze something, while others ask us to create stories of our own. If you think one option is boring or undoable, choose another one. Pick what is closest to your spirit, and what you think will best show your knowledge of the material. I believe in student choice. So, feel free to use your ability to choose to your own advantage.

So, for this challenge, address the following question: How does Maya Angelou’s “Still I Rise” pick up on this conversation about whether history is subjective or objective? You might think about the opening of the poem, when she writes about the use of history to keep her and others down.
