Please read the paper “PREPAID TELECOM CUSTOMERS SEGMENTATION USING THE K-MEAN ALGORITHM” for preparing this assignment. You may also use other internet sources for enriching the content. Please note that you do not need to know K-means algorithm to solve this assignment.
Your submission MUST comprise the following sections. The requirements for each section are mentioned within parenthesis.
Section1 (2 marks): Role of clustering in business (Highlight how clustering may play a significant role in business – a general overview with examples from at least two business domains other than TELECOM)
Section2 (1 mark): Applicability of clustering to TELECOM sector (How clustering problem may be applicable to TELECOM sector – a general discussion not necessarily in the context of the paper)
Section 3 (5 marks): Consumption-based segmentation of Pre-paid TELECOM Customers (Discuss the study carried out in section 3 of the given paper and briefly summarize the characteristics of each of the 7 clusters. Also use charts to visualize the facts about each cluster and their mutual comparisons based on the numbers/facts provided about each cluster in the paper.
Section4 (3 marks): Recommendations (as a marketing manager to enhance company’s profitability based on the facts provided by the seven clusters of the prepaid customers).
