Substance use and misuse are nothing new to our society. I believe the root cause of substance use is cultural. It has been observed and copied and use as a right of passage and expected to indulge at a certain age in many cultural or is used to make you feel good or get rid of your worries and forget about your troubles. Life pressures and obligations have an impact on indulging. When you ingest more than intended you become intoxicated and you become impaired and psychoactive effects include a change in your perception, your thoughts, your emotions, and your behavior. Effects on the person could be health issues, their occupation, and finances, his or her relationships. It can affect their relationship with their spouse or significant other, your children, and society the way you interact with clerks strangers. 
                           The best and most common and best supported biological and psychosocial treatments include biological treatment, anxiety drugs and antidepressants, and drug antagonists. There are treatment facilities such as Insight Human Services, Partnership for drug-free N.C. These are inpatient facilities From a biblical perspective causes of trouble (James 1:12 ESV) Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. We tend to look for answers everywhere else to meet our needs instead of looking to God first and have patience. (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
