You are defending a client who is charged with the brutal rape and murder of a young girl. He has not admitted the crime to you, but he has not denied it either.  There is some physical evidence (No DNA) and  circumstantial evidence against your client may be established.  One day while discussing the case with your client, he tells you about a similar rape and murder case that occurred a couple of years ago and that another man was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole for that crime. He provides you details of the earlier case that only the police and the perpetrator would know and you start to think that your client may have committed the previous crime. You confirm the information he gave you and there is no DNA evidence in the previous case. Answer the following: 1) What do you do and How do you proceed with your clients case?  2) Do attorneys have a moral obligation, beyond that stated in the law to protect others from what they believe to have been a past injustice or a future planned crime?
