Application Paper: Case Study on Ethical Issues for Health Care Organizations

ntroduction: Each week we will analyze examples of the ethical and legal
issues that concern patients, providers, and health care organizations. Often a
case-based approach highlights significant ethical and legal issues from these
different perspectives.

In this module we will examine ethical issues from
the perspective of the health care organization.

Description: Watch the movie, Patch
Adams, and examine the ethical and legal issues that confronted the
health care organizations in
the film. Some of the organizations that were depicted were hospitals, clinics,
and educational institutions. Complete a reflection/application paper in which
you examine the ethical and legal issues the health care organizations in Patch
Adams encountered as an organization from the perspectives outlined in the
readings and discussions of the week. To be sure, Patch Adams challenged many
of the health care organizations from an ethical and/or legal perspective. You
may want to use references from the web reading, “Corporate Responsibility and
Health Care Quality: A Resource for Health Care Boards of Directors” to form
some your perspectives for this paper.

Be sure to cite sources that support your opinions.

Be sure to provide a personal reflection on how you
interpret the ethical and/or legal issues associated with the case study and
how you would approach the issue as an administrator of a health care
organization. Support your perspective with references to the readings and/or
videos.

Format: The Case Study should be about two to three pages (500-750
words) in length, following APA format. Submit it to the assignment submission
folder that’s located after these instructions.
