WRITING ASSIGNMENT: Three adjectives to describe Charlotte
For this week’s writing assignment, we’re going to do some character analysis with a focus on Charlotte. Now in the book, Charlotte needs adjectives to describe Wilbur. But we’re going to turn the tables on her. What three adjectives would you choose to describe Charlotte? What are her most important qualities or traits? Who is she? What kind of a character is she?
Write three paragraphs of informal character analysis of Charlotte the spider using at least 300 words. There is no need for a paragraph of introduction or a concluding paragraph. Just write three paragraphs describing Charlotte’s character or personality with one paragraph for each adjective or quality. For each adjective and paragraph, find and describe one example (or use one quotation) from the novel to prove or support your idea. If you say that Charlotte is jealous, find an example of her doing something or saying something that shows she is jealous.
Be sure to use at least one brief quotation from the novel followed by an MLA page citation. Because this is an informal writing assignment, there is no need for a Works Cited page.
