Assignment:
Write a 1500-word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Explain and elaborate on how voting and public appointees affects the creation of public policy regarding the use of force among law enforcement agencies and what can police agency leaders do about this.
Outline and summarize a case of force where an outside agency was called in to conduct an internal affairs investigation such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, or other agency. What were the parameters of the case and why was the outside agency called in to investigate the incident? As a leader in a law enforcement agency, when would you ask an outside agency to become involved in a use-of-force incident?
