Okay, now that that’s out of the way, here are the instructions. Choose a company from the following list. That company has hired you as a consultant to look at the company’s current state. Is it successful? Are there issues happening? What does the current Annual Report say (You can find this online on the company’s investor relations website.) Your consulting services have been required to find the current primary problem with the company.
Analyze the company you select and explain what you think is the biggest problem with the company and how you would go about solving it. You must have both parts. This is your first case study, but I really want you to think deeply, and when you do so, remember that one problem is caused by another, which in turn is caused by yet another, and so on. You need to get to the root of all the problems to truly find the underlying issue, and then recommend a solution. As a consultant, you can’t recommend to shut down the company, hire more consultants, or do something in the past. Also, keep in mind that this is actually a mini-case study. Full case studies are about 10,000 words and 10-20 pages.
