To complete this speech analysis, view one of the following speeches from the “Films on Demand” database. Once you’ve viewed the speech, answer the questions below.
View Speech
To view the speech on “Films on Demand,” simply follow these directions:
Go to http://www.ctcd.edu/academics/library/databases/.
Select “General Resources” from the Database listing.
Select “Films on Demand” from the listing.
Follow the Login instructions to Login to the Database.
In the search bar at the top of the screen, type in one of the following speeches to view:Informative Speech: Treasures of King Tut
Persuasive Speech: TV in America
Complete Analysis
Now that you’ve viewed the speech, answer the four questions listed below:
What is the central idea of the speech you viewed?
How many main points did the speaker use? State the overall idea in each main point.
How did the speaker adapt his/her speech to the audience? Think about audience analysis and how the information was presented
What type of supporting materials were used in the speech? Be specific
Each question should be answered in paragraph form. The analysis should be one page (double-spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman font). At the top of the page, please include the name of the speech you analyzed.
