What is popular TO YOU today in movies, magazines, and music?
What makes a film, a video, or a magazine popular?
Who decides what is and is not popular?
Why do people differ in their perceptions of what is popular?
How does popular culture influence us today?
You might also be able to add your specific perspective on a sub-identity that is central to you. For example, I am a middle aged, multi-racial, liberal, and environmentally conscious woman. What is popular for my subgroup may not be popular for some of you. HA! This could be a very interesting discussion.
