newspapers or online sites listed below. You will then be asked to summarize
and reflect on the article. Additional research and citations will be necessary
to support your points. Make sure to use reputable sources such as journals,
recommended links in Week 1 or other child abuse resources.

STEP 1
Read one of the

headings that are bolded below. Do no list the bullets in your paper. Just
answer these questions in essay format.

article using APA format. If article was found online include the link.
Summary ● Write the issue of the article in 1 sentence.
● Write a brief
summary of the article (no more than 1 paragraph)
Analysis
● Tell me more about the issue/population discussed using at
least 1 additional research article. What does outside research, data and
statistics tell us about this issue or the population affected by it.
● Put the issues
raised in the article into a broader context. How is it relevant to this course
and to the welfare of children? How does the article and the issues relate to
the concepts this course? Be specific. ● Do you notice any bias or myths
perpetuated in the reporting? What potential bias could you anticipate in
covering this issue?
● How does race, ethnicity, religion and culture impact this
