For once, standing on my own two feet
I feel it in my chest, but it doesn’t feel like defeat
Standing tall, reaching towards the sun
For the first time, my life has just begun
The water, crushing my chest, remains no more
And there are so many things to do before
This fleeting life will end soon, no doubt
Almost gave up without finding what it is about
The inviting sun warms my tear stained face
And out of all the mess, I think I found my place
Gazing at the wonderous blue sky
I wonder just how high I may fly?
