This assignment will provide 10 hours of Brief Episodic Practice Immersion.
With this assignment, you will spend 10 hours exploring data acquisition and analytics possibilities in your clinical site in relation to your scholarly project.
Consider what data you will need to justify your scholarly project, will you be:
1. Requesting and reviewing baseline data?
2. Requesting and reviewing post implementation data (potentially)?
3. Requiring access to EHR (clinical) data?
4. Requiring access to administrative or financial data?
5. Accessing routinely collected quality or satisfaction (employee and/or patient) data?
Utilize these 10 Brief Episodic Practice hours to explore how you will attain this data.
As you explore, think about:
1. Who are the data gatekeepers?
2. What is the data acquisition process?
3. How is the data collected, stored, maintained and accessed?
4. How are the required data fields defined?
5. What is the original source of the data – who collects it and in what context?
You will write a 5-7 page paper that presents the findings of the 10 hour Brief Episodic Practice immersion. The 5-7 pages does not include the title and reference pages. Please include the names of all members of the team on the title. One team member will submit the paper.
Please include:
1. Description of current clinical gap or issue that will be addressed in your scholarly project.
2. Your data needs to support analysis – baseline, during implementation or post implementation?
3. Potential source(s) of the data – examples: EHR, HCAHPS, billing, Clinical Quality Measures, staff satisfaction, staff retention?
4. Discussion of data definitions, storage and acquisition process
5. Existence of a data warehouse, data mart, and any report generation processes.
6. Data governance – who oversees the data and your access to it?
