Develop an Evaluative Annotated Bibliography (consult p. 58 in Ballenger). This bibliography will contain the following:
A 400 word, minimum, introductory statement identifying the subject and scope of your bibliography. This may be partially revised from previous papers, but any revised material will, of course, need to be condensed to only the most essential information necessary to introduce the topic. Also, that material will need to be revised to reflect the increased knowledge of the topic you have gained as a result of your research.
The proper citation for seven sources you find in the process of conducting research on the topic of your final project. At least four of these sources must be scholarly (i.e. peer-reviewed journal articles or scholarly books). Four non-scholarly sources may count toward the ten total sources. These sources may be from first-hand research (survey’s, interviews, participant observation, etc.), from reputable internet sources, newspapers, reputable magazines (such as Time, Newsweek, the Economist, etc.; not Mad Magazine, or National Enquirer), or from other valuable sources. If in doubt about a possible source, contact me.
An annotation of each source. After each citation, give a brief summary of its central argument, its evidence, and how it fits within the broader debate on your topic. Then, evaluate each source; describe the quality of the argument and how it will or will not be useful for your project. Each annotation should be at least 100 words in length, not counting the citation.
This bibliography should be in proper MLA or APA formatting (see appendices A and B in Ballenger). Quotation should be used sparingly, but if you need to use the specific words from a source, you must put them in quotation marks and properly cite them. DO NOT PLAGIARIZE.
Note that while non-scholarly sources are limited to three for the purposes of this assignment, all seven sources may be scholarly if that is what works best for your project. Also, note that I am not limiting the number of sources you may use for the project as a whole to seven; I am only saying that at least seven must be provided for this bibliography. You may, of course, find many more sources in your research, and feel free to continue researching the topic after submitting this bibliography.
