Find a legal case, article, or video that relates to an ethical, legal, or crisis issue you learned about in EDU615 (Legal and Ethical Issues in Education) which includes an individual in the career area you wish to work in or are currently working. Review the scenario using the following steps:
Describe the issue: Why was this individual and/or school involved?
Summarize the nature of the issue, including the historical context (if possible) and unique characteristics/vulnerabilities of the impacted individual or institution. What was the legal question or ethical issue that related to this situation? If the issue was brought to court, what was the decision of the court?
Summarize the lasting impacts of and lessons learned from this case for the education community. Develop your perspective as to how that decision has impacted or has the potential to impact other private or public educational organizations or employees. What policies and procedures should an educational organization put in order to comply with this situation or court decision?
