Respond to the following discussion I have posted below
Now, war films will be in the focus of our attention (assuredly, there will be movies about the Great Patriotic War or the Great War for Fatherland (Soviet/Russian name for struggle against Nazis in the USSR at the time of WWII)). This week I would like to ask you to watch three films “Alexander Nevsky”, “Come and See” and third one – your choice: “Ballade of/about Soldier” or “Destiny of A Man”. Often, cinema glorifies a war. Do these films glorify a war? What is it a war, according to the messages of directors? Please, remember that everything is important in the film (especially in the Soviet film) – any element, picture, symbols and, of course, words and time when it was made.
