The purpose of this assignment is to explore the role of a nurse as an advocate in the vulnerable population setting. The student will examine a current political policy or existing healthcare organization with a potential impact on a vulnerable population. Possible solutions will be explored through the process of scholarly inquiry and consultation. 
 Requirements:
Select a vulnerable population for which you would enjoy acting as an advocate. 
Consider a current political policy or existing organization that has a potential impact on this vulnerable population.
Perform an informal Internet search as well as a scholarly literature review to familiarize yourself with the situation of the vulnerable population. Repeat this procedure to examine an organization or policy with potential impact being examined. Using the process of scholarly inquiry, formulate a specific, realistic intervention that could be implemented to help this population and address a disparity in health care. 
Act as a nurse advocate for this vulnerable population and complete the following activity: 
Write a letter to a senator or other stakeholder (see template) advocating for a specific change based on evidence that could address the needs of the vulnerable population being examined. Mail the letter and submit it to the dropbox.
