A debate topic, The topic is about plastic ban and recycling
1650 words
There has to be 6 sources cited on the paper
For this first section, you should first introduce, define, and explain your chosen topic to your readers. You are then required to cite secondary sources that approach your topic from various perspectives. For example, if you are writing about the federal minimum wage, you should find sources that both support such policies and sources that propose alternatives to a minimum wage such as tax breaks for businesses that may result in wage increases. You need to work to find sources that go beyond just covering “both sides” of an issue or topic but instead offer various opinions and perspectives so your reader understand the key issues, opinions, and approaches to the issue you are researching and writing about. A minimum of four secondary sources must be cited in this section.

In the next section include a thesis statement that supports your ideas on this subject after conducting, examining, and annotating secondary research. It is probably useful to think of this section as an abbreviated argumentative paper with an introductory paragraph and thesis, body paragraphs containing topic sentences, supporting evidence and explanations, and a conclusion that aptly summarizes your position and any unresolved issues. The purpose of this section is to persuade your chosen audience to foster an interest in your topic and perhaps even conduct their own research and engage in activism. You are required to cite at least two more secondary sources in this section that are not already included in the first section (The Debate).
This section should ideally answer the “so what” question. In other words, why does your thesis and investigation matter in the context of your overall topic? Why should your thesis and topic matter to your proposed audience? And why should your chosen audience involve themselves with researching and engaging with your topic?
