1.     Listen to 2-different parent-child interactions – in the grocery store, on the bus, at the playground, at the doctor’s office. Answer the following questions in a 2-paragraph (3-4 sentences per paragraph) format for each conversation:

How do parents talk to their children?
Do they respond with extended answers?
Do they initiate the conversation?
Do they “hush” children when the child initiates the conversation? How does the child react?
In your opinion, what is the effect of the quantity and quality of parents’ interactions on their child’s language development?
