Have you ever observed someone’s first language acquisition process (with a sibling, family member, or your child)? If you don’t have that personal example, you can share your thoughts on this TEDTalk and language acquisition or any new information you learned from it. What emotions did you experience when you observed their “first word” moment?
Regarding your example in Q1, did you notice any similarities between the concepts mentioned in this video and your experiences (feedback loops- “gaga” transitioning to “water” overtime, or solo hotspot, or wordscape etc.). Are any of these concepts related to what you read in chapter 8 (or 9) in your textbook?
