Hand-held remote controls are commonplace in all homes and workplaces for use withprojection systems, televisions, home-theatre systems,Cable-TV set-topboxes, CD and DVD players,etc. These remote controls are also able to control information appearing on a display (e.g. projection screen, television, etc.).

Select one such hand-held remote control to assess in terms of physical ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics and human-computer interaction perspective. In your assessment, you should use the remote control to carry out a task on the display/screen (minimum one task comprising at least three sub-tasks).Discuss how human factors have shaped the design of your hand-held remote control and identifyits good design features and shortcomings.
