The student will produce a synthesis paper as the culminating project of this course. It will allow the student to tie together all that has been learned about historiography. Drawing on the material recorded in the comprehensive Historiography Matrix, textbooks, lectures, and the research articles, the student will then use the material to craft a 5-7 page paper answering an assigned question.
Trace the roots of historical writing from the Judeo-Christian and Greek beginnings to the present with attention to the core beliefs and and techniques of the historians.
Then assess the impact of each of the historical schools on current historical research.
Finally, discuss the the integration of current research methods with a biblical world view.
