For this discussion, you will investigate a river in Utah. You will include some images in your answers also. Each person in your group should choose a different river in the state, and answer the following questions:
Where are the headwaters for this river?
What types of drainage patterns do you see in the drainage basin? Include 1 image.
What type of stream channel (one of the two) is the river? Braided or meandering? Include 1 image that show the type of stream channels.
Evidence of erosion–include 2 images from the river’s path that demonstrate erosion, and for each image explain how you see erosion in the image.
Evidence of deposition–include 2 images from the river’s path that demonstrate deposition, and for each image explain how you see deposition in the image.
What is the base level of the river? In other words, where does the river end?
Historical or recent flooding events (find one example).
How does the river impact humans (find two examples)?
