There is an abundance of substance abuse treatment programs in every state. However, very few of these programs have been evaluated and have been found to be a “best practice or evidence based program.”
Assume that you have both a female offender and a male offender with a substance abuse problem assigned to your caseload. However, your agency was closing down due to lack of funding. You are now tasked with finding and referring the female offender (Diamond) and the male offender (Joe) into a substance abuse program within 50 miles of your zip code that has been found to be either evidence based or a best practice type of program. If you are unable to find an evidence based or a best practice program, please select an outpatient, inpatient as well as a detox program for both Diamond and Joe.
