An organization can reduce the effect of lost leadership through a strong succession planning program that identifies and fosters aspiring and/or next generation of leaders. Essentially, succession planning should be more than assigning a name in a box.Directions: For this assignment, you will be required to participate in a group round table (it is preferred you turn-on your video camera during the conference) with other students who were randomly assigned by CANVAS to your group (you can find this under the People tab). Once you have determine who has been assigned to your group, please complete the following steps:

Your goal is to help build/create a high-level leadership succession plan to help convince the executive leadership team to proceed forward with researching a plan to implement. Your research should include major reasons why leadership succession planning is important to your organization, team, etc.
Please research and share the findings from your research regarding:
the possible reasons top leaders and/or organizations fail to create succession plans?
identify the business case reasons for engaging in succession planning?
outline the difference between replacement planning and succession planning?
identify essential components of a succession planning program (a minimum of three)?
identify the role of the human resource team to ensure effective succession planning?
