These law enforcement professionals are employed at all geographic levels, including local, national, and international agencies. In 2008, the United States entered a deep economic recession that required state, local and federal governments to significantly cut their budgets, resulting in fundamental changes to policing at every level despite an overwhelming public desire to maintain existing police services. How do you think staff reductions affect the ability of law enforcement to carry out its mission? What affect do you think it has among the officers? Suggest some ways to reduce the operational costs of law enforcement agencies that does not include reduction in officers.
