Orchestration Project #1 (graded):
Write an arrangement of at least 32 bars in length for string ensemble (4 players minimum, no maximum).
Incorporate the following techniques:
* Correct range (no unplayable notes)
* Dynamic contour (range of appropriate dynamics)
* Musically coherent phrasing, including phrase markings.
* Appropriate bowing and articulation markings
* At least two atmospheric or extended techniques (tremolo, non traditional bowing, harmonics, etc).
* Appropriate and playable techniques as outlined in the Adler text.
You may take one of your existing exercises and expand upon it. Bonus points for creative writing (e.g. taking a melody and weaving it through different timbres or an unexpected twist).
