You are required to examine the Sustainability/Corporate Responsibility Report of Whitehaven Coal for 2020 and
present your answers to the following questions in the form of an executive report
for each company which will cover quantitative performance elements in a logical
cohesive format.
1. Describe and evaluate that sustainability is a critical part of the company’s
mission, and motivations for issuing a sustainability report.
2. Examine the scope of the sustainability report and identify if attempts are made
to address the GRI content and quality principles, if applicable. What are the
key achievements in the sustainability initiatives?
3. What are the main findings in the assurance or review of the sustainability report
by external committee, accounting firms or consultants? Comment on the
assurance provided for the report. Conclude with an overall evaluation of the
report.
