Don’t include the question in your essay. Just tell us what the answer is with a clear thesis statement.
There should be no fluff. For instance, don’t say things like this:
“The question of what constitutes intelligence has been debated for millennia.”
“According to Webster’s Dictionary, the definition of intelligence is…”
The body of your paper (i.e., not the title, your name, etc.) should be between 900 and 1100 words. You will be rewarded for being concise (conveying maximal information with an economy of words).
–It is a good practice to write the paper longer than it needs to be and then condense it.
–All else being equal, 900 concise words will be graded more favorably than 1100 words.
